The report outlines the various paths to power through the experiences of women around the world with successful careers in the public sector. Even though the path to achieving gender parity has been slow and uneven, the public sector's openness to women serves as a model for the private sector, and ultimately for women as a global workforce. Ms. Liswood was asked to provide her perspectives on diversity, the empowerment and advancement of women, as well as the challenges that lie ahead.

Professional Businesswomen of California - PBWC’s 20th Anniversary Conference:'20/20' A look at the Past, a Vision for the Future
On May 6th, 2009, Liswood hosted a keynote panel at PBWC’s 20th anniversary Annual Conference. Panelists included a number of women from the 'Fortune 50 Most Powerful Women in Business' and the 'Fortune 50 Highest Paid Women in Business' lists such as Safra Catz and Deborah McWhinney, among others. This closing keynote session looked at the progress women in business have made over the last 20 years, and laid out the steps for continued progress over the next 20. Both barriers and opportunities were discussed and ways for women to 'hurry history' as they continue on their journey.
Closing the Gender Gap
A Pricewaterhouse Coopers documentary, the film features Laura Liswood and other international experts in an effort to exemplify the key role played by gender in the global market-economy. Statistics show that women and men enter the labor market in equal numbers. The dynamic is very different for high-ranking positions. The film provides a glimpse into the challenges and barriers faced by women and explores the cost of not closing the gender gap.

Laura gives the keynote address for Session 447 of the Salzburg Global Seminar in November of 2007 titled: Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Women in Politics and Business. This five-day seminar explored the barriers that keep women from top political and business positions and strategies for overcoming these challenges.
